A position is available at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia, for a part-time Organist and Choir Director in a friendly, 125 family parish with all-volunteer adult and junior choirs. Emmanuel will consider an organist/choir director who is not familiar with the Episcopal liturgy or Hymnal, but who understands the important role of church music to a congregations worship experience. Evidence of Emmanuels commitment to our music program is that we recently acquired a new Allen Renaissance Quantum 325 classical organ, in a sanctuary with great acoustics.
Salary/benefits would be commensurate with AGO guidelines for the Washington DC area ($18,000 to $22,000 per annum, with one month paid vacation and 2 weeks continuing education). founded in 1960 with current membership of 275 families, seeks a part-time Director of Music Ministry. The congregation has a well-established, versatile music program with full and active participation. The Director is responsible for the overall liturgical music program including the adult choir, childrens choir, hand bell choir, and instrumental program. The position requires a bachelors degree, masters preferred, professional experience, keyboard and conducting skills, and a solid grounding in liturgical worship. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative and organizational ability and background. St. Matthew resources include a pipe organ, electronic concert piano, 3-octave hand bells, chimes, and a concert series now in its 20th season.

Glenelg United Methodist Church, in fast-growing western Howard County seeks a Director of Music for the execution of a vibrant music program. Applicant shall encourage and use music for the worship services appropriate for the church and the liturgical message. The Director of Music shall direct the Chancel Choir as well as oversee one or more children and youth choirs, if formed. Experience in working with adults and youth, and knowledge of the United Methodist Church is preferred.
The position is part-time, with the Director of Music expected to hold at least one choir rehearsal per week for the Chancel Choir. Practice for children or youth choirs will be on an as needed basis, as determined by the Director of Music. The yearly salary is $12,000.
